Bendigo Pioneers – The Season So Far

The Bendigo Pioneers’ Holiday Inn ambassador Jacob Chisari popped in for a chat about the season so far, how he’s improving his game and who he’s tipping for the AFL grand final…

How is the season going so far?

The season so far has been a very enjoyable one. With only a few wins on the board everyone is hungry to get a couple more to finish off the rest of the season.

What are the Pioneers doing well on the field?

Our work rate both ways, sticking to our structures and to our game plan has been exceptional. With strong second halves we have come very close to stealing some wins.

What are you personally working on this season to improve your game?

This season I have been working on my outside game and trying to improve my body work at stoppages.

What has been your highlight of the season so far?

My highlight for the season so far was our win over Oakleigh. We had a solid lead throughout most of the game and they had a big last quarter. They made us work hard for the win.

Who are you enjoying watching in the AFL?

I’ve been enjoying watching Ollie Wines and Jake Stringer this year. It is great to be able to watch them do so well at AFL level seeing as though 12 months ago they were dominating the TAC Cup with the Bendigo Pioneers.

Do you have a hot tip on who will be playing on AFL grand final day?

At the moment I think that it will be Sydney and Hawthorn then again but I would love to see Collingwood make it to the Grand Final.
