Chinatown’s Chinese New Year Festival is a celebration of Chinese culture and culminates in the Dai Loong Big Dragon Parade.
Experience Melbourne’s Dai Loong Big Dragon Parade from 11:30am to 1pm on the 2nd of February, 2020. The Big Dragon is the centre piece of the Chinese New Year’s festival being 100 metres long and illuminated! The parade begins in Chinatown and weaves its way around the CBD. Make sure to check out additional activities around Chinatown such as Lion dance performances, live music, cultural performances and street calligraphy.
Join the Chinese New Year in Melbourne festivities at the Chinese Museum
The Chinese Museum will be open during the Chinese New Year Festivities, located off Little Bourke Street (free of entry). The Museum showcases the history of Chinese Immigration to Australia, including five floors of history starting from early Gold Rush to present day.
