Jacob Chisari

Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders ambassador and Bendigo Pioneers rising star Jacob Chisari chats about his TAC Cup Morrish Medal win and shares his highlights of the season.

Firstly, congratulations on winning the TAC Cup Morrish Medal! Can you tell us a bit about this award and what it means to win it?
The TAC Cup Morrish Medal award is the best and fairest award for the TAC Cup competition. Being such a prestigious award it is a great honour and I am very privileged to have won it.

How was your season?
The season this year was a quite difficult one with having only won three games, but it was very rewarding getting to know new staff and players throughout the season.

What has been your highlight so far?
My highlight would be winning the Morrish Medal and being selected in the Team of the Year. Some of my other highlights this season would be our win against Oakleigh at the QEO and also being able to play against Geelong with the Bendigo Gold in the VFL.

What has been the most difficult thing you’ve faced?
This year one of the most difficult things I’ve had to face is finding the balance between schooling and training. With both taking up so much time I’ve had to be very organized and at times the juggling between them was difficult.

What are you looking forward to next year?
I’m looking forward to beginning university and the new challenges that another football season will bring.

For all the young players who look up to you and other senior players, what is your advice for them?
Make the most of the opportunities that are presented to you, you never know where they might lead you.
