Meet Darcy, our Head Concierge at Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders. Part of Darcy’s role is to ensure the reception team knows what’s going on in Melbourne during March 2017, and where our guests can find our city’s hidden gems.
Because your time in Melbourne may be brief, Darcy will be sure you get to do more of what you love and discover the best of Melbourne.
Darcy will be providing monthly updates on ‘What’s on’ in Melbourne, including the must see events that she may have attended.
This month we will be showcasing Kooza by Cirque Du Soleil and The Book of Mormon.
Kooza by Cirque Du Soleil on during March 2017
Kooza tells the story of The Innocent, a melancholy loner trying to find his place in the world. The journey of The Innocent brings him into contact with many characters including the King, the Trickster and the Obnoxious Tourist and his bad dog.
In this fantastic show, Kooza plays homage to the traditions of circus. With the return to their origins, Kooza combines acrobatic performance and the art of clowning, while exploring identity, recognition, fear and power.
DARCY’S TIP – This show has great viewing no matter where you are seated in the big top, as it has been designed to provide an intimate show to all who attend. This show is suitable for people of all ages and is a Melbourne event not to be missed.
This show must close Sunday 26 March, so buy tickets quickly!
The Book of Mormon – Princess Theatre Melbourne
The Book of Mormon tells the story of two extremely likeable Mormons, who are on a mission to spread the story of the Lord’s word. Elder Price and Elder Cunningham are two polar opposites, who are on the same journey to share their scriptures with the inhabitants of a remote village in Uganda.
The young men are challenged by the complete lack of interest by the inhabitants, as they are focused on more pressing issues such as AIDS, famine and oppression from the local warlord.
With 9 Tony awards under its belt, this Adult only audience production deliver a performance that will make you laugh yourself silly.
DARCY’S TIP – Matt Stone and Trey Parker who wrote the musical were the creators of South Park, so expect a show which is not only side-splittingly funny, but is also one for those that are not easily offended. Book tickets as far ahead as possible (tickets are available up until June) for the best seats available.
Make sure you take advantage of the many theatre shows during March 2017 that are currently being hosted in Melbourne. Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders is perfectly located to ensure that you are close to the action.
